College Cares Initiative

The cost of college tuition continues to rise and along with it the percentage of college students facing insecurities such as food, housing, and basic necessities. Studies conducted in 2020 revealed approximately 58% of college students experienced basic needs insecurity. This percentage was higher for 2-year institutions at 61%. In addition to this 34% were affected by food insecurity and 14% were homeless in some capacity. The study also revealed students of color were more likely to be affected by some basic needs insecurity. 

WFG launched the College Cares Initiative to provide relief to those who need it most. When basic needs are not met, the ability to stay focused and do your best is significantly impacted. Our college care packages are designed to equip students with basic needs support.
